Short Description: Just a quick welcome post to welcome everyone to Routes Bytes, and show what will be done over time with this brand.

Welcome!

Welcome to Routed Bytes! I'm Josh, a working senior network engineer during the day, and sometimes at night, not just someone who watches YouTube videos and doesn't know what they're talking about. I've done everything from configuring BGP peering’s, managing hundreds of private statewide fiber circuits, to diagnosing ExpressRoute cloud connections at 10 pm.

I wanted to give back to the network community and help those who have a desire to get into technology, but more specifically, network engineering. Over all my years of learning, the information I'm providing was stuff I wished was there when I was learning, and now that time is passing, it is slowly becoming available. Routed Bytes is going to help entry-level engineers, and maybe some senior-level engineers, by providing network and general technology content in easily understandable bytes of information (haha, you see what I did there ;) ). Some of this content would be explaining different protocols, various tools, providing cheat sheets, diagnosing configurations, and much more! Make sure to pin this website and follow me on social media for more content.

I'm always looking for ideas for new content, so if you have any requests on things you'd like to see, or collab on a post, please fill free to reach out to me!

Additionally, prior to being into network engineering, I use to have a huge hobby into coding, especially websites. I still have that passion as one of my many hobbies. So, this website, in its entirety is all hand coded, with very minimal AI use, and minimal frameworks to support it. This is just another way for me to test and grow on my skills.
